Instructor qualifications

The instructor must have the required qualifications.

Practical tip: No teaching certificate, degree, or credential is required. The Kansas Attorney General has confirmed that teacher certification is not required (AG Opinion 75-409). The parent typically serves as instructor. 'Competent' is not formally defined; if challenged, the burden would be on the state to prove incompetence.
